Summer Theatre Workshop

Theatre Americana is hosting an Actor’s Workshop at their new home away from home “Art on Fig”. Marc Mantell will be leading the workshop. Marc has a robust bio, including working with some of the theatre’s finest directors and essayed leading roles in major productions and tours of such musicals as: “The Sound Of Music”, “The Fantasticks”, “West Side Story”, “Fiddler On The Roof”, “Stop The World I Want To Get Off”, “Promises-Promises” and “Gypsy”. A season with the Stratford Shakespeare Festival in Canada led to a series of dramatic leads in various productions of: “The Lion In Winter”, “Antigone”, “Satyricon”, “Romeo And Juliet”, “As You Like It” and “Macbeth”, in venues ranging from the Public Theater in New York to the Ahmanson in Los Angeles.
Classes will be on Tuesdays, from 11:00 am – 1:00 pm, beginning July 28th through September 1st, culminating in a performance in the theatre on September 1st.
This 6-week course is only $120 per student. Students will learn acting fundamentals, character development, stage performance and voice/projection. Students are encouraged to bring one of their favorite monologues to work on.
